The Ceremony — A Spectacular Arch at the Thornhill Patio
The ceremony was held on the patio at the Thornhill Education Center and it was absolutely stunning. The floral arch at the altar was one of the most spectacular I have ever photographed — bursting with color, texture, and life. Vibrant blooms in every shade created a backdrop that felt like it belonged in a garden dream.
The bridesmaids wore rich silk dresses in the most beautiful mix of colors — magenta, yellow, green, and blue — each one more vibrant than the last. Against the lush green backdrop of the Arboretum it looked like a painting. The groomsmen were classic and sharp in black tuxedos that perfectly balanced the bold bridal party colors.
The ceremony itself was intimate and heartfelt — exactly the right size to feel personal and full of emotion. Every vow, every tear, every laugh felt close and real.
Cocktail Hour — Sunset Through the Trees
The cocktail hour was served on the front patio of the Thornhill Center and it was pure magic. As guests mingled and celebrated, the July sun began its slow descent behind the trees — casting that golden hour glow that photographers dream about. Watching the light filter through the canopy of the Arboretum while Anna and Thomas soaked in the first moments of being married was one of those scenes I will never forget.
The florals continued to shine during cocktail hour — the floral arrangements throughout the entire wedding were some of the most stunning and thoughtfully designed I have ever seen. Every detail was intentional, colorful, and beautiful.
Dinner in the Library — Speeches That Brought the House Down
The dinner reception was held in the library at the Thornhill Education Center — an intimate, warm, and elegant space that felt perfectly suited to a celebration this full of personality. And personality it had in abundance.
The speeches were legendary. I have photographed many weddings and sat through many toasts — and these were some of the best I have ever witnessed. Laughter, jokes, genuine emotion, and stories that had the entire room doubled over one moment and wiping tears the next. Anna and Thomas are clearly surrounded by people who love them deeply and know how to celebrate them.
