White Stone Events Wedding — Sugar Grove, IL

Kristina and Luke chose the perfect ending to the wedding season at White Stone Events in Sugar Grove, Illinois. Their October wedding was the last celebration of the year at this stunning venue — and nature had saved its most spectacular show for last. Fall colors blazed across the open grounds, the air was crisp and cool, and the golden autumn light made every single frame absolutely breathtaking.
It was cold. Genuinely cold. But Kristina and Luke embraced every moment of it — and that decision made all the difference. There is something about a late October wedding that feels different from any other time of year. The colors, the light, the intimacy of gathering everyone you love together as the season turns — it creates a warmth that no amount of October chill can touch.
Getting Ready at White Stone Events
One of the things that makes White Stone Events such a special wedding venue is the thoughtful way it’s designed for couples. The property features a dedicated bridal suite where Kristina got ready surrounded by her bridesmaids. A beautiful, warm space filled with laughter, happy tears, and all the excitement of a wedding morning.
On the other side of the grounds, Luke and his groomsmen had their own private space . A separate house designed just for the groom’s party. This setup is something I absolutely love as a photographer. It gives both the bride and groom a relaxed, intimate space to prepare for the biggest day of their lives, without any of the chaos of sharing a single getting-ready room.
Kristina was radiant. Surrounded by her closest friends, getting into her dress, holding her bouquet. Every moment of that morning was filled with genuine emotion and beauty. And Luke? He was calm, composed, and so clearly ready to marry the love of his life.
The Ceremony in the Barn at White Stone Events
The ceremony was held inside the barn at White Stone Events — and it was absolutely stunning. Even without heat, the barn had a warmth all its own. String lights, wooden beams, the rustle of fall leaves outside — it felt like something out of a dream.
When Kristina walked down the aisle, the room fell completely silent. Luke’s face said everything. That moment — that pure, unscripted, completely real moment — is exactly why I became a wedding photographer.
Their vows were heartfelt and personal. There was laughter, there were tears, and by the time they were pronounced husband and wife, every single guest was on their feet. The energy in that barn was electric — even on a cold October day, the room was completely full of warmth.
Fall Portraits on the Grounds of White Stone Events

After the ceremony, we stepped outside into the crisp October air for portraits — and the grounds of White Stone Events delivered something truly spectacular. The open fields, the elegant buildings, the mature trees bursting with fall color — every direction we turned, there was something beautiful.
Kristina and Luke were naturals. They were a little shy in front of the camera at first — which is completely normal — but as the day went on and they relaxed into each other, their connection just shone through every image. By the time we were done with portraits, we were all laughing together like old friends.
The fall light at White Stone Events in late October is unlike anything else. That soft, golden, late-afternoon autumn glow wrapping around the venue’s open grounds created portraits that are timeless, warm, and absolutely stunning.
The Reception at White Stone Events
The reception was held in a separate space on the same beautiful grounds. The transition from the intimate barn ceremony to the celebration felt seamless. The venue’s thoughtful layout meant that guests could move naturally from one space to the next without ever leaving the magic of White Stone Events.
Kristina and Luke celebrated with their closest family and friends, and the joy in that room was absolutely infectious. The dancing, the toasts, the laughter — it was everything a wedding reception should be. Being the last wedding of the season at this venue, there was something extra special about the whole day — like the venue itself was giving one final, beautiful performance before the winter.
